Benefits and Opportunities
As an intern at the Astin Mansion you are able to see how an event venue runs on a day-to-day basis. You are responsible for tasks ranging from sweeping the floor to helping with client folders and checklists. The intern program educates you on all facets of the event industry and is applicable to what working in the event industry is actually like. You work alongside five or six other interns, so you are able to learn from each other and build a network at the same time. You never know when you might run into each other working in the event industry.
The internship starts out as unpaid, but you have the opportunity to achieve "Superstar" status. In order to become a superstar, you must meet specific requirements and perform at a high level. If you reach the superstar position, you then become a paid intern and have the ability to return the following semester to work as well. If you have been awarded the superstar award and decide to return for future semesters, you will also have the ability to serve as the floor manager, assistant coordinator, or even the coordinator at some events. The possibilities are endless as long as you work hard and strive for excellence.

Achievements
During my time with the Astin Mansion, I was awarded the "Superstar" award after working for three months. It was at this time that I then decided to continue working at the Astin Mansion, and I have since had the ability to work as the floor manager and assistant coordinator at many events throughout the remainder of my internship.
